Our Contract Processing Capabilities

Our contract processing services typically focus on the controlled, indirect thermal processing of free-flowing products. Each Client project receives an application-oriented approach, meaning that equipment, processes as well as QC procedures, and chain of custody documentation, when necessary, are tailored to suit the Client’s requirements and project timeline.

Although processing operations vary from project to project, most use a similar overall procedure. The process material typically begins as a free-flowing powder or formed media. It is fed continuously into the process equipment, whether for heat treatment or for ancillary operations such as screening or blending.

Important process variables are controlled to accommodate the Client’s material specification. TPS typically handles feed material in bulk bags and has flexibility with respect to feed devices and product collection arrangements. Product packaging can be bulk bags, drums, Client proprietary vessels, or bulk trucks. Drums, vessels, and bulk trucks can receive an inert gas purge if specified. Unless otherwise stated, the contact surfaces involved in our processing services are stainless steel or superalloy.

Blending or screening operations can be performed before or after thermal processing, or as exclusive operations. Other unit operations can be made available as well.

Available QC processes using state-of-the-art analytical quality control equipment include loss on ignition (LOI), Hunter Color, Leco carbon, Micromeritics surface area-porosity, and bulk density evaluation.
